民数记-Numbers 第 13 章

13:1耶和华对摩西说，
Then Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
13:2你打发人去窥探我所赐给以色列人的迦南地，他们每宗族支派中要打发一个人，都要作首领的。
Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; one man from each of their fathers' tribes you shall send, every one a leader among them.
13:3摩西就照耶和华的吩咐，从巴兰的旷野打发他们去；他们都是以色列人的首领。
So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of Jehovah, all of them leading men among the children of Israel.
13:4他们的名字如下：属流便支派的，是撒刻的儿子沙母亚；
And these were their names: from the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur;
13:5属西缅支派的，是何利的儿子沙法；
From the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori;
13:6属犹大支派的，是耶孚尼的儿子迦勒；
From the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;
13:7属以萨迦支派的，是约色的儿子以迦；
From the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph;
13:8属以法莲支派的，是嫩的儿子何西阿；
From the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Nun;
13:9属便雅悯支派的，是拉孚的儿子帕提；
From the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu;
13:10属西布伦支派的，是梭底的儿子迦叠；
From the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi;
13:11属约瑟支派的，就是属玛拿西支派的，是稣西的儿子迦底；
From the tribe of Joseph, that is, from the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi;
13:12属但支派的，是基玛利的儿子亚米利；
From the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli;
13:13属亚设支派的，是米迦勒的儿子西帖；
From the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael;
13:14属拿弗他利支派的，是缚西的儿子拿比；
From the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi;
13:15属迦得支派的，是玛基的儿子臼利。
From the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.
13:16这些就是摩西打发去窥探那地之人的名字。摩西称嫩的儿子何西阿为约书亚。
These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun Joshua.
13:17摩西打发他们去窥探迦南地，对他们说，你们从这里上南地，然后上山地去，
And when Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, he said to them, Go up this way into the Negev, and go up into the hill country;
13:18看那地如何，其中所住的民是强是弱，是多是少，
And see what the land is like; and whether the people who live in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;
13:19他们所住之地是好是坏，所住之处是营盘是坚城，
And whether the land in which they dwell is good or bad; and whether the cities that they live in are like camps or with fortifications;
13:20那地是肥美是贫瘠，其中有树木没有。你们要壮胆，把那地的果子带些来。那时正是葡萄初熟的时候。
And whether the land is fat or lean; whether there are trees in it or not. Therefore strengthen yourselves and bring some of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first ripe grapes.
13:21他们就上去窥探那地，从寻的旷野到利合，靠近哈马口。
So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near the entrance of Hamath.
13:22他们从南地上去，到了希伯仑；在那里有亚衲人的后代亚希幔、示筛、挞买。(原来希伯仑城比埃及的锁安城早建七年。)
And when they had gone up through the Negev, they came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, were there. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)
13:23他们到了以实各谷，从那里砍了葡萄树的一枝，上头有一挂葡萄，两个人用杠抬着，又带了些石榴和无花果来。
Then they came to the Valley of Eshcol, and from there they cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes; and they carried it on a pole between two of them. They also cut off some of the pomegranates and some of the figs.
13:24因为以色列人从那里砍来的那挂葡萄，所以那地方叫作以实各谷。
That place was called the Valley of Eshcol, because of the cluster which the children of Israel cut down from there.
13:25过了四十天，他们窥探那地回来，
And they returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days.
13:26到了巴兰旷野的加低斯，来见摩西、亚伦、并以色列人全会众，回报摩西、亚伦、并全会众，又把那地的果子给他们看；
And they proceeded to come to Moses and to Aaron and to the whole assembly of the children of Israel, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them and to the whole assembly, and showed them the fruit of the land.
13:27又告诉摩西说，我们到了你所打发我们去的那地，果然是流奶与蜜之地；这就是那地的果子。
And they told him and said, We came to the land into which you sent us; and it indeed flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
13:28然而住那地的民强壮，城邑也坚固宽大，并且我们在那里看见了亚衲人的后代。
However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large; and we also saw the descendants of Anak there.
13:29亚玛力人住在南地，赫人、耶布斯人、亚摩利人住在山地，迦南人住在海边并约但河沿岸。
The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negev, and the Hittites and the Jebusites and the Amorites dwell in the hill country, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the Jordan.
13:30迦勒在摩西面前使百姓安静，说，我们立刻上去得那地罢，因为我们足能得胜。
But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
13:31但那些和他同去的人说，我们不能上去攻击那民，因为他们比我们强壮。
But the men who went up with him said, We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.
13:32那些探子论到所窥探之地，向以色列人报恶信，说，我们所经过、窥探之地，是吞吃居民之地，我们在那里所看见的人民都身量高大。
And they brought to the children of Israel an evil report of the land which they had spied out, saying, The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people that we saw in it are men of great size.
13:33我们在那里看见拿非利人；(亚衲人的子孙就是拿非利人的一支；)我们看自己就如蚱蜢一样，他们看我们也是如此。
And there we saw the Nephilim (the descendants of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.
